this diluted room
is quiet
in rainfall when you are away

electric wires sprawl
like cobwebs
from too few sockets
inert, aquiescent to the day

instruments pens easels
implements of our jive
stay silent
saying nothing

and

i look for depth
in corners

finding

a promise
trickling like water
in the ear
of a neighbour upstairs

takin' a bath
and lookin' forward  
to freedom and ennui
