I found this blurb in the local 24 Hours Magazine that they sell at the transit stations.  It's a magazine geared for commuters.

Jean-Dominique Bauby, a french journalist who is suffering from 'locked-in" syndrom, wrote the book "The Diving Bell & the Butterfly."  He wrote it by blinking his left eye - the only part of his body that could move.
