Hey, I'm doing it.  Anyone else up for some rip-roaring writing?

Well, well, look who has crawled out his cave!

No, not me, I mean dmg of course....

This looks very interesting. Are we expected to write an entire novel in one month? Since I've been dragging my lazy American backside on my "novel" for a little over three years now, I really should give this a shot. Are you guys going to be doing it?

You bet your sweet biff I'm gonna do it.  Are you joining me?  All you gotta do is register.  I'm no doing the Meela novel on that month.  No, it's going to be something completely different, just for fun, get me outta my rut.  DMG - I don't think he's doing the write.

Good to see you Call of The Lion!

Good to see you, too, Meela! Yes, I will probably be joining you for the hyperwrite. I've had a bizzare urge to write a story about a cake for a while now, and this may be my big chance to take a holiday from the dark world of dystopia for a while and focus on exactly that. I don't mean a story just about a cake, mind you, but a story told from the perspective of a sentient cake with feelings and emotions.

It might start:

"George was a very happy fellow, generally content with life, except for one wheedling problem that returned often to his mind: he was a cake. He could not recall what he had been before that. Dough, perhaps, or flour. He was quite certain, at any rate, that the flour had not asked to be made into a rotund bundt cake. In that sense, it could not definitely be said that the flour was him at an earlier stage of life."

meela is planning a psychoerotic mystery with an Indian spin, set in New York, but revolving around the murder of a Bollywood movie director.

...which Bollywood starlet killed him? smile/xread.gif

best wishes to all who try!  smile/kneu_monster.gif

Oh my goodness COZ!  I mean, my mind began to really work at that one.  I mean - was he the egg?  The sugar?  Creation itself was the Big Spin Theory...oh my.  I am looking forward to reading it.  YOU GO!!

I think I need to think about the characters a bit more, which I do when I'm riding the bus, working, and doing what I do.  I'm a little apprehensive, but it should be pretty fun and kitchie.

Yeah, take a holiday from the dark world of dystopia - and find yourself a field of sunflowers to play in, eh?  I don't know about you, but I need Eutopian fantasies in my life to balance out the disappointments the world likes to harp on all the time.  It makes my world a better place to live in, and it rubs off on me eventually.  And it rubs off on people I know.

Haha, no, dystopia is fun, especially if you want to be a dictator one day. There is actually a big field of sunflowers in "1984" called "The Golden Country."

And oh yeah, the cake thing will definitely have religious significance, with The Baker being a metaphor for God.

What is the "Big Spin Theory?" I haven't heard that one.

Hahaha, sort of a "we create our own reality" idea?

Like, for sure!  It's like our genes, patterns, essence that puts the spin on how we see, hear and determine our tastes, feelings (and sensitivity of touch).

Nurture - the bowl.  Ingredients - the million and a half bits of information in your life.  So what kind of cake did you turn out to be?  Do you get iced, or carmel dribbled?  Or are you some poor sorry bunt cake?

smile/hapface01.gif Personally, I wanna be an Angel Food cake covered in Pink Marshmallow icing and silver candy beads!   It's a cake I always tried to win at the school cake walks when I was a kid.  I won it twice you know, and my sister won it once - all in different years.

Ya just gotta want it bad enough I say.
